OPINIONpost: time to eat

Food is extremely powerful. It provides living creatures with strength. For humans, it is a way to express emotions, develop relationships, and power our minds. Sharing a meal can change someone's life. Going hungry can drive one to madness.

This blog is a celebration and also an exploration of food. It seeks to explore my personal relationship with food by documenting my various culinary adventures. I want to discover new gadgets, techniques, genres, recipes, restaurants, and anything food-related. It mostly shall be a celebration of good food. However, this blog will occasionally feature political and economic content on America's food industry (a deeply troubled one). Being the richest and most obese state in the world, our food industry is terribly decrepit. We still have American children that are food insecure.

My eating habits would most likely disgust you. I am skinniest fat person that you know. Here is what I ate today: some Tostitos chips, about 30oz of Sunkist Orange soda, a Toblerone, and a box of Mike-and-Ikes. Nothing I ate had any nutritional value whatsoever. It wasn't cooked with any love, and was a product of a factory. From now on, if I want a cookie or some chocolate, I want to make it.

It is time to celebrate food. As such, it is time to celebrate some humanity.

This blog is inspired by Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution.
